About Us
Yesterday's America started as a YouTube channel with a simple habit: pulling bands, artists, and one-hit wonders out of the past and asking what actually happened to them. This site is where that habit gets organized. Every band we've covered, every genre we've dug through, and every story we've written up lives here, searchable and linked together instead of scattered across a video history.
What You'll Find Here
Browse by artist to see everything we've covered about a specific band, including the videos, the retention story, and whatever we could dig up about where they ended up. Browse by genre if you're chasing a particular sound. Collections group artists around a theme, an era, or a shared thread that a single band page can't capture on its own. And the blog is where we put the longer stories that don't fit neatly into either.
Who This Is For
If you've ever heard a song on the radio, loved it, and then never heard from that band again, this is for you. So is anyone who falls down a YouTube hole at 1am reading about bands that almost made it, lineup breakups, one perfect single, or acts that were huge somewhere and invisible everywhere else. We're not musicologists. We're just people who think the bands music history forgot deserve a second look.
Support the Channel
The easiest ways to help keep this project going cost nothing but a click:
- Subscribe to the channel on YouTube and turn on notifications
- Like and comment on the videos, YouTube's algorithm notices
- Share a video with a friend who'd get the reference
- Follow along on Facebook for updates between uploads
If you know something about a band we've covered, or one we haven't, that's exactly the kind of tip that turns into a future video. Send it our way.
